Damaged plaster, cracks and loose wall finishes can appear for different reasons, so every repair calls for an individual assessment. This portfolio brings together examples of Handyman MultiFix wall and plaster repair work in homes across Newcastle and Gateshead.
The photographs show separate properties and different types of repair. We present them as individual examples, not as stages of one project.
Repairing Damaged and Loose Plaster
In some homes, Handyman MultiFix removed loose or damaged plaster before inspecting and preparing the affected area. We then filled and made good the damaged sections.
The extent of each repair depended on the condition of the existing wall and the amount of loose material we needed to remove.
Repairs to Older Lath-and-Plaster Walls
One property had an older lath-and-plaster wall. Removing the loose plaster exposed the timber laths behind the original finish.

This type of wall requires a different approach from a simple surface crack. Handyman MultiFix prepared the damaged section, rebuilt the missing plaster and made good the surface.
Filling, Smoothing and Preparing Walls
Other examples show repaired areas after filling and surface preparation. The aim was to close the damaged sections and create a more even surface for the next finishing stage.
Where decorating formed part of the agreed work, Handyman MultiFix prepared the repaired surface for painting and decorating. On other jobs, we left the wall ready for the customer’s chosen finish.
Final Decorative Finish
After completing the wall repair and preparation, Handyman MultiFix installed the wallpaper to provide the final decorative finish.

Wall and Plaster Repairs in Different Homes
These photographs come from several properties and show different wall and plaster repairs completed around Newcastle and Gateshead.
We assessed each repair individually because the existing plaster, wall construction and extent of the damage affected the appropriate method. You can also see a separate example of a wall repair after utility work in Jarrow.

Need Help With a Damaged Wall?
