This courtyard decking installation transformed an unattractive, underused outdoor area into a cleaner and more welcoming space. The customer asked Handyman MultiFix to improve the area with decking.

From an unused courtyard to a practical outdoor space

First, our design team prepared a proposed layout and showed it to the customer. After the customer approved the design, our team began the transformation with a clear plan for the finished space.

How we completed the courtyard decking installation

Over several days, we prepared the area and constructed a timber subframe to provide a secure base for the decking boards.

Next, we carefully completed the supporting structure. With the subframe in place, we fitted the boards to create the new outdoor surface.

Repainting the surrounding courtyard walls

However, the surrounding walls were in poor decorative condition, so the decking alone would not have completed the transformation. Therefore, we also repainted the walls white as part of the project.

As a result, the fresh finish brightened the area and created a much cleaner backdrop for the courtyard decking.
